Strengthening Localisation Process of 2030 Agenda and Enhancing Capacity of local stakeholder both Government and Non- Government in achieving Gender Equality

This project focused on orienting provincial level stakeholders on localisation of SDGs and promoting local women's leadership, established as Local Women’s Major Group for SDG in Nepal, leadership particularly on community monitoring and social accountability for gender equality. This project is supported by VSO Nepal which was implemented from 2018 at Parsa province 2, Baglung, Province 4 and Surkhet, Province 6. BBC is using the approach of community led monitoring to monitor the implementation of specific programmes related to gender equality and social inclusion at local level. A group of active women in the community will be gathered to form a Local women major group who will be monitoring the work of local government. Capacity building of local Women major group (LWMG) members will be done to enable them to understand the principle of SDGs and its goals and targets. Trainings on citizen led monitoring by the use of community score cards will be provided to members of LWMG and further Advocacy capacity building trainings will be provided to enhance their capacity to advocate with the local government for localisation of SDGs particularly for achieving Gender equality.
